What is Ayurveda?
The word Ayurveda means knowledge of life.
Ayurveda is an eternal, Indian, holistic science of life which is more than 5000 years old. Its basic principles being similar to those involved in the creation of the universe. It is a complete system of health based on the elements of nature and the rhythms of our natural world.
Ayurveda states that every person is a unique being who responds to physical and social environments, nutrition and herbal medicines in a different way to the next person.
Ayurveda's emphasis is on prevention to avoid the need to cure. If a disease has set in, then it aims to heal by nutrition, purification, massage, yoga, herbs and improved lifestyle. It treats not only the ailment but the whole person.
